Remote Senior Backend Engineer - Remotly

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to help shape the future of the time tracking industry. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the world, as long as you are based between UTC -4 and UTC +4. The annual salary for this role is €80,000, with additional benefits like paid time off, a laptop budget, and more.

The Role 
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will own key areas of our product’s backend infrastructure. You will develop highly available RESTful services using cutting-edge open-source frameworks, working with technologies like Go, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Infrastructure. You will collaborate with Backend and Frontend teams to enhance the product, contributing to a seamless experience for our global user base. 

Your main responsibilities will include: 

  • Developing and maintaining backend services, including APIs and infrastructure. 
  • Working across teams to add value to user-facing applications and APIs. 
  • Designing and completing medium to large projects with high productivity. 
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges within the system. 
  • Leading projects, managing communication with teams, and ensuring alignment on objectives. 

About You 
To succeed in this role, you should have significant experience in backend engineering, particularly with Go. You should have experience working with distributed systems, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud Infrastructure, and be proficient in best software engineering practices like unit testing and code reviews. 

We are looking for someone who can: 

  • Solve complex technical problems and scale systems effectively. 
  • Collaborate across teams and contribute to project planning and execution. 
  • Offer guidance to junior engineers and provide actionable feedback. 
  • Communicate effectively in an asynchronous remote environment.
