Role Overview

Yoko Co is looking for a WordPress Support Engineer who enjoys solving technical problems and helping clients maintain stable, high-performing websites. This role goes beyond simply resolving support tickets—it focuses on building strong client relationships, understanding technical challenges, and ensuring that clients feel confident their websites are well supported.

The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, identifying root causes, and delivering clear, helpful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the technical support team, you will provide hands-on support for client websites by diagnosing issues, implementing fixes, and ensuring websites remain stable and secure after launch. Responsibilities include troubleshooting plugin conflicts, fixing layout and functionality issues, and resolving unexpected site behavior.

You will review and occasionally modify HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP within WordPress environments to diagnose and correct technical problems. You will also apply updates to WordPress core, themes, and plugins while maintaining compatibility and site stability.

Additional responsibilities include monitoring website performance and security, troubleshooting hosting or DNS issues, resolving email delivery or analytics tracking problems, and assisting with third-party integrations. You will also conduct QA testing to verify updates work properly across devices and browsers.

The role also involves communicating clearly with clients, providing guidance on using the CMS, documenting support work in the ticketing system, and collaborating with developers, project managers, and strategists when more complex technical investigation is required.

Ideal Candidate

Strong candidates typically have 3–5 years of technical experience working with WordPress, along with a solid understanding of themes, plugins, and site configuration. The role requires familiarity with debugging plugin conflicts, managing hosting environments, and handling migrations or DNS settings.

Applicants should be comfortable reading and modifying HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP, and have experience working within structured support workflows or ticketing systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluent English are also required.

Experience with Git workflows, supporting websites in agency environments, or working with multiple client projects is considered a bonus.
