Apply by 28 October 2026 · 6 days left
FamilyWell Health is hiring a Women's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to work as a psychiatric consultant on a collaborative care team. The role is for a psychiatric nurse practitioner who is independently licensed in Connecticut and can practice without supervision. You would support OB/GYN providers, patients, social workers, licensed therapists, and coaches through regular consultations on an assigned caseload.
This is a part-time, remote position. It is a 1099 contractor role at 5 to 20 hours per week.
What you will do
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits for FamilyWell program participants via telehealth, for short-term management of mental health conditions in the perinatal period and/or during peri/menopause. Provide treatment recommendations for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care.
- Complete pre-conception medication consultation and psycho-education for individuals trying to conceive who are currently treated with psychotropic medications.
- Perform asynchronous caseload consultations by reviewing clinical information prepared by the patient's care team and available medical records. Case review consultations focus mainly on patients who are new to the caseload or who are not improving as expected under their current treatment plan. Provide recommendations for next steps in treatment.
- Complete documentation for case consultations and direct patient visits within 24 hours of the visit.
- Work with care managers to oversee the status and population health of your assigned patient caseload. Use FamilyWell's registry to track all assigned patients and prioritize patients for case review and treatment adjustment.
- Provide the care team with educational support on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions.
- Be available for occasional ad hoc telephone, email, or telehealth consultations to OB providers for complex patients or challenging patient situations within normal working hours. Maintain professional cell phone and email accounts for contact during usual business hours. Check professional accounts daily and respond to email questions or consultations within two business days, sooner if urgent.
What they are looking for

- Hold an active DEA license in state(s) of licensure.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude.
- Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence-based clinical recommendations.
- Passionate, driven, and inspired by a mission to improve perinatal mental healthcare delivery, particularly in vulnerable patient populations.
