FamilyWell Health is hiring a Women's Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join its collaborative care team. The role is for a licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner in Massachusetts who can work independently, holds an active DEA license, and wants to support pregnant, postpartum, and menopausal patients through a virtual care model.

You will consult with OB/GYN providers, social workers, licensed therapists, and coaches on an assigned caseload. For some patients you will advise the OB/GYN on medications and treatment strategies. For more complex cases you will see the patient directly for short-term medication management related to pregnancy, postpartum, or peri/menopause.

What you will do

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits for program participants via telehealth, focused on short-term management of mental health conditions in the perinatal period and/or peri/menopause.
  • Provide treatment recommendations for patients who may need more intensive or more specialized mental health care.
  • Complete pre-conception medication consultation and psycho-education for individuals trying to conceive who are currently treated with psychotropic medications.
  • Perform asynchronous caseload consultations by reviewing clinical information prepared by the patient's care team and available medical records. These reviews focus mainly on patients who are new to the caseload or who are not improving as expected under their current treatment plan.
  • Complete documentation for case consultations and direct patient visits within 24 hours of the visit.
  • Work with care managers to oversee the status and population health of your assigned patient caseload, using FamilyWell's registry to track patients and prioritize case review and treatment adjustment.
  • Give the care team educational support on diagnosing and managing behavioral health conditions.
  • Be available for occasional ad hoc telephone, email, or telehealth consultations with OB providers for complex or challenging patient situations during normal working hours. Maintain professional cell phone and email accounts, check them daily, and respond to email questions or consultations within two business days, sooner if urgent.

What they are looking for

  • Licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner in MA.
  • Able to practice independently without supervision in the state(s) of licensure.
  • Hold an active DEA license in state(s) of licensure.
  • Hold an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner certification issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Positive, flexible, and solution-focused attitude.
  • Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective, evidence-based clinical recommendations.
  • Passionate, driven, and inspired by a mission to improve perinatal and/or perimenopause mental healthcare delivery, particularly in vulnerable patient populations.
  • Experience or interest in perinatal or perimenopause mental health and collaborative care.

Hours and pay

This is a part-time, 1099 contractor role for 5 to 20 hours per week.

Compensation is per service:

  • 60-minute psychiatric evaluation: $125
  • 25-minute psychiatric follow-up: $50
