Analytics Engineer

Reddit is hiring an Analytics Engineer to join its Analytics Engineering team within the Data Science organization. The role sits at the intersection of data science and data engineering, and the person in it will work with Data Scientists and Engineers across Consumer, Ads, and Marketing to build the data and tooling that Reddit's product work depends on. Reddit describes itself as a community of communities, with 100,000+ active communities and roughly 130 million daily active unique visitors.

What you will do

• Contribute to data quality, performance, reliability, and automation initiatives.
• Manage a portfolio of data products that deliver high-quality, trustworthy data.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows for data ingestion, processing, and transformation, working with engineering on their quality and reliability.
• Develop and implement data quality checks, conduct QA, and implement monitoring routines.
• Create and manage new data integrations across internal and external systems.
• Create internal tools and applications that streamline data analysis and reporting, and drive adoption of them with a focus on automation, consistency, and reliability.
• Serve as a thought partner to data scientists, engineering managers, and leadership on data foundations, and help shape the data foundations roadmap and strategy.

What they are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a quant educational field.
• 3+ years of experience with large-scale ETL systems (implementation, strategy, and maintenance), building clean, maintainable code and systems (Python preferred) in a production environment.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, Scala, or similar.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL and ELT concepts, patterns for efficient data governance, and manipulating massive-scale structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with data workflows such as Airflow, data modeling, and front-end or back-end engineering.
• Experience in data analysis and dashboard design.
• Deep understanding of technical and functional designs for relational and MPP databases.
• A track record of cross-functional execution and collaboration.
• Agentic AI-assisted development experience.
• Communication skills to work with stakeholders at all levels and with differing levels of technical acumen.
• Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.

Pay and benefits

The base salary range for this position is $164,200 to $229,990 USD. The posting notes that it may span more than one career level. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered may also be eligible for a commission. Final offer amounts depend on factors including skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses or credentials.
