FamilyWell Health is hiring a Women's Mental Health Therapist to provide virtual therapy to patients in Illinois. The role is part-time, 10 to 30 hours per week, and you would work as a 1099 contractor from anywhere in the United States. FamilyWell is an AI-enabled mental health start-up that embeds mental health care into OB/Gyn practices, and this position sits in its Care Operations department.
This job is for a licensed therapist who can practice independently in Illinois and wants to focus on women's mental health across the reproductive lifecycle, from fertility through menopause.
What you will do
- Provide individual tele-therapy to patients who request regular sessions, using FamilyWell's virtual platform.
- Conduct one-on-one psychological intakes for referred FamilyWell program patients, gathering assessments that inform treatment planning.
- Document patient progress and share treatment recommendations with medical providers, psychiatric consultants, and other treating professionals as needed.
- Modify treatment plans for patients who need more intensive or specialized mental health care, making sure interventions happen on time.
- Develop and deliver Care Plans after sessions, giving patients actionable insights and follow-up steps.
What they are looking for
You must be a licensed mental health provider with an active license in Illinois and be able to practice independently, without supervision. Qualifying licenses include:
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
FamilyWell strongly prefers formal perinatal, peri, or menopause mental health training, or at least one year of clinical experience working with pregnant, postpartum, or peri/menopause patients.
Two certifications are recommended but not required: Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International, and proof of certification in treating the peri/menopause population.
The role also calls for strong written and verbal communication, comfort collaborating across different teams, proficiency with tele-therapy platforms and virtual care, and a commitment to patient-centered care. FamilyWell wants someone driven to improve women's mental health care, especially for vulnerable patient populations.
Pay and hours
Compensation is $80 per 60-minute session, which covers both intake and follow-up sessions. There is also a 2-hour allotment per month for administrative compensation. The job is part-time at 10 to 30 hours per week, classified as a 1099 contractor position.
