Delivery Solutions Architect - Oil & Gas
Databricks · Remote - Texas · posted 6 days ago
Databricks is hiring a Delivery Solutions Architect for its Oil & Gas work, remote in Texas. The role is a hybrid of technical and commercial work: you become the post-sale technical lead across all Databricks products for the company's most complex customers, and you also drive growth in those accounts. It reports to a DSA Manager in the Field Engineering organization.
What you will do
- Work with Solutions Architects to understand the full use case demand plan for prioritized customers.
- Lead the post-technical-win account strategy and execution plan for most Databricks use cases in the most strategic accounts.
- Act as the accountable technical leader for specific use cases and customers across multiple selling teams and internal stakeholders, driving onboarding, enablement, go-live, and healthy consumption of workloads the customer has chosen to run on Databricks.
- Be the first contact for technical issues or questions about the production or go-live status of agreed use cases, often across several use cases in the largest organizations.
- Use Shared Services, User Education, Onboarding/Technical Services, and Support resources, and escalate to expert-level technical experts when work falls outside your scope or expertise.
- Create and execute a point of view on how key use cases can move into production faster, coordinating with Professional Services on delivery of engagement proposals.
- Work with Databricks Product and Engineering teams on new product innovations, private previews, and upgrade needs.
- Build an execution plan covering all customer-facing technical roles and teams across these work streams: main use cases moving from win to production; enablement and user growth; product adoption; organic needs for current investment such as cloud cost control and tuning; and executive and operational governance.
- Give internal and external updates, including KPI reporting on usage and customer health, investment status, risks, product adoption, and use case progress, to your Technical GM.
What they are looking for
- 5+ years of experience accountable for technical project or program delivery in Data and AI, where you can contribute to technical debate and design choices with customers.
- Programming experience in Python, SQL, or Scala.
- Experience in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, customer success, or consulting role.
- Understanding of solution architecture for distributed data systems.
- Understanding of how to attribute business value and outcomes to specific project deliverables.
- Technical program or project management experience, including accountability for accounts, stakeholders, and resources.
- Experience resolving complex, important escalations with senior customer executives.
- Experience running open-ended discovery workshops, creating strategic roadmaps, conducting business analysis, and managing delivery of complex programs or projects.
- A track record of overachievement against quota, goals, or similar objective targets.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to travel up to 30% when needed.
Pay and benefits
The local pay range for this role is $180,000 to $247,500 USD. Actual packages depend on job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. The total package may also include eligibility for an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.
