FamilyWell Health is collecting interest from qualified candidates for future openings for a Perinatal or Perimenopause Behavioral Health Coach. The company is not actively hiring coaches right now, but it keeps a list of people to contact when the next coach role opens. This listing is for coaches who want to work virtually with pregnant, postpartum, and menopausal patients as part of a collaborative care team.
What you will do
As a Perinatal Behavioral Health Coach, you are a core member of a collaborative care team that also includes OB providers, Care Coordinators, Licensed Therapists, and Psychiatric Consultants. You provide virtual coaching sessions for patients in the collaborative care program and work with other team members to decide on clinical management recommendations when appropriate.
- Support the mental health of pregnant and postpartum patients via telehealth for an assigned patient caseload.
- Provide patient education about common perinatal mental health disorders and the available treatment options.
- Document patient progress and client encounters in a HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record (EMR) system and client registry provided by FamilyWell.
- Communicate patient progress with FamilyWell Care Team members.
- Identify patients who are not improving and may need more intensive mental health care, and report any concerns to the Care Manager and the Psychiatric Consultant.
- Develop and complete relapse prevention self-management plans with patients who have achieved their treatment goals and are soon to be discharged from the program.
What they are looking for
- At least 1 year of coaching experience, or experience working directly with perinatal or perimenopause patients.
- Completion of the FamilyWell Perinatal Behavioral Health Coaching Certification program within 3 months of the start date, if not already completed.
- A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Certified Behavioral Health Coach through FamilyWell's Perinatal Behavioral Health Certification Program, or PMH-C through Postpartum Support International, is strongly preferred.
- Passion for improving perinatal mental healthcare, particularly in vulnerable patient populations.
Key competencies
- Empathy and compassion: the ability to understand and support the unique challenges of pregnant and postpartum patients.
- Communication: strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions.
- Cultural sensitivity: respect for diverse backgrounds and experiences, particularly in a perinatal context.
- Adaptability: FamilyWell describes itself as a fast-growing company that is constantly looking to make improvements. The team is scrappy, resilient, and always iterating to make the program better for patients.
Pay, hours, and location
Compensation is $25 per 30-minute session. The role is remote and based in the United States. Hours are 10 to 25 per week. The coach reports to the Head of Coaching Services.
