Applications Engineer 2
Twilio · Remote - India · posted 3 days ago
Twilio is hiring an Applications Engineer 2 to work as a Salesforce Developer on its GTM Automation team. The role is remote and based in India, and it sits close to the business: you would apply Salesforce development skills to sales systems and get exposure beyond the platform. Twilio says it suits an experienced Salesforce developer who wants to join a growing development team they can learn with and help shape.
What you will do
- Work with the GTM Automation Systems team on a Salesforce data model that is technically scalable, easy to report on, and intuitive for end users.
- Build custom functionality with SOQL APIs, Apex controllers, Apex Web Services, Apex callouts, and other development tools to tailor sales systems to Twilio's business and operating model.
- Take part in technical analysis, document requirements for application integration, and work on integration design with architects and other stakeholders.
- Review code entering the codebase and assure its quality.
- Evaluate and refactor existing code for greater extensibility.
- Learn new technologies as project requirements call for them.
What they are looking for
Twilio encourages anyone who meets the required qualifications to apply, including people whose careers are just starting or have not followed a traditional path.
Required:
- 3+ years of experience with Apex, LWC, SOQL, and JavaScript, with Agile development practices
- Advanced flow development
- API integrations (ETL, marketing tools, ERP, analytics)
- Data architecture support
- Performance optimization and technical debt reduction
- Deployment and CI/CD support
- Security and scalability improvements
- Technical design collaboration with a System Architect
- Ability to translate technical requirements into independent features for development
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting in Salesforce
- Experience identifying common blind spots and bugs in Salesforce
- Experience working with and optimizing millions of rows of data
- Proficiency developing unit tests with assertions for core functionality
Desired:
- Experience with AgentForce, Einstein, or AI tools and technologies
- Experience with SQL, Python, Data Cloud, or Snowflake
- Familiarity with a pay-as-you-go business model
- Experience developing and deploying through Heroku
Twilio describes the right person as someone who solves multi-faceted problems, manages large volumes of data, and builds tools that drive impact. They should understand the core business problem, balance speed and quality, offer solution alternatives, and be comfortable asking questions.
