Forward Deployed Engineer, Professional Services

Cloudflare is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer for its Professional Services team. The role is for a senior technical expert who works directly with the company's most strategic and complex customers, architecting solutions and helping them get the most out of Cloudflare's platform. The position is available in the UK.

What you will do

• Act as a trusted advisor to key enterprise customers, giving strategic recommendations and technical guidance on Cloudflare's solutions, particularly Workers and Workers AI.
• Lead architectural discussions, design sessions, and solution reviews to make sure Cloudflare's offerings are applied well in customer environments.
• Diagnose complex technical issues and deliver solutions in close collaboration with support and product teams.
• Manage complex configurations using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to keep customers operationally stable.
• Work with Sales, Customer Success, Support, Partners, Product Management, and Engineering so that customer insights shape the product roadmap.
• Advise customers on security, network optimization, scalability, and performance tuning for their specific needs.
• Keep up with industry trends and changes to Cloudflare's solutions.

What they are looking for

• In-depth experience in a technical customer-facing role such as Solutions Architect or Technical Account Manager, ideally in cloud networking, security, or web infrastructure.
• Extensive knowledge of Cloudflare's Application and Security portfolio (DNS, WAF, DDoS, Bot Management, CDN) and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience protecting web applications, APIs, and web services using WAF, DDoS, DNS, and Bot Management tools.
• A proven ability to work with Cloudflare products within enterprise-level accounts.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong consultative skills and a track record of solving complex technical problems in customer environments.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into practical, scalable solutions that fit Cloudflare's technology stack.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with coding, Cloudflare Workers, and Workers AI.
• Prior experience in customer onsite placement.
