Senior Account Director – Client Relations & Business Growth

Position Overview 

We are seeking an experienced Account Director to manage client accounts and oversee the performance of cross-functional teams within an agency setting. 

In this position, you will play a key role in developing client strategies, monitoring account performance, and ensuring financial success, while maintaining strong relationships with important stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to guide clients toward effective business decisions.  

Key Responsibilities 

Client Relationship & Strategic Leadership 

  • Act as the internal expert on client accounts by understanding their goals, challenges, and business priorities.

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for resolving client concerns and maintaining strong partnerships.

  • Build strong rapport with key client contacts and quickly establish trust.

  • Provide strategic guidance that supports clients in making informed business decisions.

Financial & Contract Management
 

  • Develop, recommend, and negotiate Statements of Work (SOWs) and retainer agreements.

  • Manage contract renewals, negotiations, and proactive account planning.

  • Ensure accounts achieve financial targets and maintain profitability.

Industry Expertise & Business Development
 

  • Apply industry insights and market trends to enhance client strategies.

  • Identify opportunities to expand existing business relationships.

  • Collaborate with the new business team on RFP responses and agency pitch presentations.

Leadership & Team Collaboration
 

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams while promoting collaboration.

  • Anticipate the impact of internal decisions, including resource allocation.

  • Set clear expectations for project scope, deliverables, and timelines.

  • Provide constructive feedback and maintain transparent communication with leadership.

Execution & Problem Solving
 

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality work within project scope and budget.

  • Identify potential challenges early and develop proactive solutions.

  • Work closely with strategy, creative, production, and project management teams.

  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Communication Skills
 

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Deliver confident presentations to both clients and internal teams.

  • Address conflicts calmly and professionally.

  • Recognize underlying concerns and guide teams toward effective solutions.
