We offer clear, step-by-step instruction, a proven learning framework, and a supportive online community that empowers students to progress at their own pace.

NGA blends free learning resources with premium membership content to make learning guitar structured, enjoyable, and results-driven.

On-Camera Guitar Instructor (Remote)

National Guitar Academy is seeking a talented on-camera guitar instructor to lead the creation of our next generation of online courses.

Our previous instructor helped thousands of students succeed through clear explanations, an approachable teaching style, and a friendly on-camera presence. We’re now looking for someone who can step into a similar role and help shape the future of our course library.

This position is ideal for a confident guitar educator who enjoys teaching on camera, works well independently, and wants genuine ownership of the course creation process.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for creating complete online guitar courses from concept to final delivery. This includes developing course ideas, planning lesson progressions, filming content, and collaborating with our video editor to produce polished, professional lessons.

You’ll play a central role in shaping the learning experience for students at National Guitar Academy.

What You’ll Do

Course Creation

  • Collaborate with the team to develop new course concepts

  • Design structured lesson plans and learning progressions

  • Prepare lesson outlines, notes, or scripts as needed

  • Record lessons using your own home studio setup

  • Review edited videos and provide feedback to ensure quality

Teaching & On-Camera Delivery

  • Explain guitar concepts in a clear, accessible way

  • Create a welcoming learning environment that builds student confidence

  • Focus on quick, meaningful wins for beginner players

Optional Contributions (Not Required)

  • Support promotional content for new course launches (e.g., email copy)

  • Share ideas or content for short-form social media clips

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • Strong guitar teaching skills

  • Clear, friendly communication style

  • Confidence and comfort on camera

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Experience teaching beginners

  • Ability to record clean, professional-quality video and audio from home

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing online courses

  • A distinctive teaching style or niche

  • Experience teaching older adults (55+)

  • Basic copywriting for educational or marketing content

  • Experience teaching blues, classic rock, acoustic, fingerstyle, or beginner-focused material

Structure & Compensation

Role Structure

This is an ongoing, paid hourly role and a core part of our course development process. Rather than one-off projects, we’re looking for someone who can consistently own one to two courses at a time—from planning and lesson design through filming and final delivery.

The role is fully remote with a flexible schedule. You’ll manage your own workflow, with clear expectations around communication, milestones, and deadlines. Workload will vary by project phase, with more time required during filming and less during planning or review stages.

We expect you may have other professional commitments, such as in-person teaching or additional work. This position will begin as a contract role with the potential to evolve into a longer-term collaboration.

Hourly rates will be determined based on experience, teaching effectiveness, and on-camera presence. Final compensation will be discussed during the interview process and aligned with scope and availability. We value long-term partnerships and fair pay for high-quality work that supports real student outcomes.

How to Apply

Please record a short 2–3 minute introduction video and email it to: jobs@nationalguitaracademy

In your video, briefly introduce yourself and explain a guitar concept that reflects your unique teaching style and helps students learn more effectively. For inspiration, see National Guitar Academy’s “stepping stone chords” approach:

Your video doesn’t need to be highly produced—the goal is to get a feel for your teaching style and on-camera presence.
