Data API Engineer

Supabase is hiring a Data API Engineer to work on its Data API, which is based on the PostgREST project. The role is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in the world. It suits someone with strong Haskell skills who has contributed to open-source projects and wants to work on developer tools used at scale.

What you will do

• Work on PostgREST's PostgreSQL driver, which is based on Hasql, to remove bottlenecks and improve performance.
• Develop new features and fix bugs in PostgREST, with the work aligned toward a multitenant Data API.
• Resolve incidents and escalated support issues, and improve observability and performance along the way.
• Collaborate with other teams to debug and solve integration issues with the Supabase platform.

What they are looking for

• Strong Haskell skills with at least 3 years of experience.
• Experience using the C language.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and plpgsql scripting in PostgreSQL.
• A strong track record of contributing to and engaging with open-source projects. Maintaining an open-source project is a bonus.
• Strong experience providing technical support to users with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Experience debugging applications on Linux.
