That's No Moon Entertainment is hiring a Head of Production to lead the production discipline for its AAA action-adventure games. This is a senior leadership role for someone who has taken a large-scale game through the final phases from Alpha to ship, and who can manage senior managers while keeping the production organization running efficiently.
The studio describes itself as an independent team of storytellers and game-makers focused on narrative-driven experiences. The role is based in the United States.
What you will do
- Act as the supervising production lens for discipline leaders across the studio, giving them visibility into the delivery implications of their decisions and driving alignment across functions.
- Adopt and drive the existing production plan for closing the current game, while integrating incremental improvements and building a foundation for the next title and the studio's overall production methodology.
- Maintain and improve the delivery strategy for the project, including how it is structured, phased, and executed through launch. Translate product vision and roadmaps into feasible development plans within time, budget, and resource constraints. Drive clarity around ownership, priorities, and handoffs across teams.
- Evolve the production org structure, including how producers are deployed across content and disciplines. Own career development frameworks, leveling, and promotion standards for the discipline. Lead and develop Senior Managers and Production Leads.
- Set and uphold production standards across tooling, tracking, and milestone processes. Ensure consistent reporting on sprint and milestone burndowns, velocity metrics, and delivery risks.
- Monitor project and team health across strike teams and departments, identify risks, and build mitigation strategies. Champion project management discipline while leaving room for creative iteration. Advocate for development practices that protect team wellbeing without compromising delivery.
- Own the production headcount budget and workforce plan, including contractor strategy, backfill decisions, and ramp planning, in partnership with Finance and Operations.
- Represent the production function in executive and publisher-facing forums, communicating project status, delivery risk, and strategic recommendations.
What they are looking for
- Primary production leadership responsibility for a large-scale AAA project through the final phases from Alpha through Ship. Recent experience is a plus.
- Prior experience working with external publishing partners across regions and scale is a plus.
- Deep expertise in project management practices, milestone planning, risk mitigation, and production reporting to different audiences.
- Strong operational leadership skills, able to set up and drive efficient cross-functional workflows.
- Hands-on experience with production tools such as Jira, Perforce, Confluence, or similar.
- Exceptional team leadership and mentorship skills, with proven success managing other leads and developing talent within a production organization.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to balance creative needs with production realities, especially during polish and submission phases.
- Calm under pressure, highly adaptable, and able to drive alignment in complex, fast-moving environments.
- At least 10+ years of experience in game production, with 4+ years at a senior leadership or director level.
- Shipped at least one AAA title in a senior production leadership role, ideally including ownership of preproduction, polish, and submission phases.
- Experience leading and mentoring a production team across multiple disciplines (design, art, engineering, narrative, audio).
- Deep understanding of complex projects from feature integration through final content lock.
- Bachelor's degree in Production, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
