The Role

We are hiring an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing SaaS engineering team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems that power the Proton.ai platform.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to architecture decisions, system design, and feature development—helping shape the future of our product.

What You’ll Do

• Lead backend development for new features, from concept to production
  
  
• Collaborate with product teams to define technical requirements and trade-offs
  
  
• Contribute to system architecture and ensure scalability and performance
  
  
• Work across backend, infrastructure, and full-stack components
  
  
• Build customizable solutions for enterprise customers
  
  
• Ensure application reliability, security, and efficiency
  
  
• Participate in data flow and system design discussions
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of experience building scalable SaaS applications
  
  
• 5+ years of backend development experience (Python or Go preferred; C# or Java acceptable)
  
  
• Strong experience with system architecture and secure coding practices
  
  
• Deep understanding of cloud-native technologies (cloud platforms, databases, scalability, security)
  
  
• Experience working in startup or high-growth environments
  
  
• Strong problem-solving and system design mindset
  
  
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration
  
  
• Passion for learning new technologies and comparing tools for best use cases
