Role Overview

As a Sales Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing client relationships and guiding them through the sales process. This includes:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for potential clients.
  • Providing technical insights and ballpark estimates for projects.
  • Collaborating with engineers to build detailed proposals.
  • Representing OpenCraft's services with authority and technical expertise.

This role combines sales and engineering knowledge, requiring strong technical fundamentals to effectively communicate with technical managers and clients.

What You’ll Need

Basic Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales and customer account management.
  • Hands-on contributions to open-source projects.
  • Proficiency in:
    • Django
    • React or similar frameworks
    • REST APIs
    • Docker
    • Linux
    • Relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite
    • Git for version control
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
  • Comfortable with remote tools like Trello, Jira, and GitLab.
  • Ability to work asynchronously with a globally distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the education industry, especially online learning platforms like Open edX.
  • Experience in online community collaboration (forums, open-source communities, etc.).
  • Copywriting or blogging experience.
  • Knowledge of project management tools like Jira or Trello.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet software like Google Sheets.
