To support our growing customer base, particularly larger teams, we seek a Senior Front-End Performance Engineer to enhance Float’s performance and scalability. Your contributions will directly impact thousands of professional services organizations worldwide. 

Key Responsibilities

Immediate Focus

  • React Upgrade: Upgrade the platform from React 18 to 19, optimizing for the React Compiler.
  • Schedule Optimization: Improve the performance of the Schedule feature, addressing existing performance bottlenecks.
  • Stabilize Test Suites: Refine and stabilize our internal performance test suites.

Ongoing Contributions

  • Front-End Excellence: Deliver best-in-class performance for our web application.
  • Tooling and Best Practices: Implement and share performance-oriented tools and practices with the team.
  • Performance Roadmap: Define and manage performance improvement initiatives.
  • Feature Ownership: Take charge of features like Schedule, Live Updates, and Search, ensuring smooth operation and scalability.

What You’ll Bring

Technical Expertise

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing React applications for large user bases and high data volumes.
  • Background in owning or contributing significantly to front-end performance initiatives.

Our Hiring Process

  1. Initial Call (20 minutes): Discuss your interest in the role with Julia, our Talent Manager.
  2. Technical Assignment (4 hours): Paid task to identify and resolve performance issues in a sample application.
  3. Technical Interview (45 minutes): Dive into your technical expertise with Gevorg and Fabio.
  4. Manager Interview (45 minutes): Meet Haakon, Team Lead, to discuss your skills and goals.
  5. Founder Interview (30 minutes): Chat with Lars, Float’s CEO, about your potential impact on the team.
