About the Role 

We’re looking for an exceptional React Developer to join our fully remote team. This is not a typical engineering role. We aim to create one of the best work environments in tech, and we’re seeking developers who thrive in autonomous, high-trust environments. 

You should have deep expertise in React—not only building components, but also managing front-end data flow, caching strategies, and understanding when and how to use hooks effectively. 

Cliniko is a web application built on Ruby on Rails, and we are actively migrating and expanding our front end with React. You’ll play a key role in shaping how the product evolves on the client side.  

What You’ll Work On 

You’ll be contributing directly to the ongoing development of Cliniko. Your responsibilities will include:

About You
 
You love building software and care deeply about writing clean, readable, and maintainable code. You’re motivated by the impact your work has on real users and enjoy learning, sharing knowledge, and improving your craft.
 
You’re comfortable working independently in complex problem spaces without overly detailed specifications. You value thoughtful code reviews and actively seek feedback to improve your work. At the same time, you enjoy contributing to others’ work and supporting teammates.

You’re confident working across the full spectrum of front-end development in React, including:
 

• Consuming JSON APIs (internal and third-party)

• Building and maintaining complex forms
  
  
• Creating scalable, high-performance UI components
  
  
• Writing and maintaining custom hooks

You’re not just comfortable with React—you’re deeply proficient. The team should be able to rely on you for sound architectural decisions, performance-conscious implementations, and thoughtful use of hooks and state management. Advanced CSS expertise is not required, as you’ll be supported by teammates who specialize in design and styling.

What Happens After You Apply
