Social Media Video Content Specialist (Remote)

We’re searching for a creative and driven Social Media Video Content Creator to enhance Canonical’s online presence. This role offers the opportunity to shape our video program, engage a global audience, and represent the voice of Ubuntu and open-source technology. 
  You’ll play a key role in growing our video content strategy, creating engaging materials that connect with millions of users worldwide, from developers to tech enthusiasts. This position is ideal for someone passionate about technology, marketing, and creative storytelling. 
  What You’ll Do
 

  • Develop compelling storylines and transform ideas into high-quality video content. 
  • Build an engaged community by creating videos that resonate with our audience. 
  • Collaborate with team members to ideate and execute marketing and communication video campaigns. 
  • Optimize video content for creativity and performance metrics. 
  • Explore and implement tools to scale our video production. 
  • Edit and produce engaging social media videos that align with our brand identity. 
  • Apply SEO and social media best practices to enhance video performance. 
  • Participate in video shoots, storyboard development, and scripting. 

What We’re Looking For
  

  • A strong portfolio showcasing video editing and social media expertise. 
  • Proficiency in video editing software. 
  • Familiarity with at least four social media platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. 
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) is an advantage. 
  • Strong conceptual skills and an affinity for branding. 
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset. 
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality standards. 
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira) is a plus. 
  • Willingness to travel up to four times a year for team events.
