Volunteer Role: Director of Outreach (Remote)
 
WeVote is seeking a volunteer Director of Outreach to contribute approximately 3–5 hours per week. This role is ideal for an experienced professional passionate about civic engagement and strengthening American democracy. You’ll work remotely with a highly engaged team to support outreach efforts ahead of upcoming elections.

The ideal candidate is energized by politics and excited to use technology to educate voters and increase participation. In return, you’ll gain meaningful leadership experience, develop technical and strategic skills, and expand your professional network within the civic tech and nonprofit ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
 

  • Design and lead national outreach initiatives engaging political candidates, civic organizations, influencers, and public figures across diverse regions and communities

  • Prioritize outreach efforts based on electoral milestones, geography, candidate demographics, and underrepresented voter groups

  • Create and maintain a comprehensive outreach calendar aligned with voter registration deadlines, primaries, general elections, early voting periods, and runoffs

  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Analytics, Product, and Fundraising teams to ensure consistent, timely, and culturally relevant messaging

  • Support and guide volunteers executing outreach campaigns across regions and audience segments, aligned with milestones and OKRs

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships across the civic and political ecosystem to expand WeVote’s reach and adoption

  • Ensure accurate data management within CRM and outreach pipelines in collaboration with the Analytics team

  • Contribute insights to continuously improve outreach strategy, tools, and processes

Who You Are (Requirements)
 

  • Motivated to contribute to an established, mission-driven team focused on strengthening American democracy

  • Committed to meaningful, impact-driven work and personal excellence

  • Able to contribute 3–5 hours per week during core team hours (Mon–Fri, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.)

  • Willing to collaborate with and support a diverse volunteer team

  • Prior experience in campaign strategy, civic engagement, or voter outreach

  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills

  • Comfortable using project management tools and CRM systems

  • Available at least one hour weekly during U.S. business hours

  • Based in the U.S., with some overlap with U.S. Pacific Time
