SOLTECH is a custom software development and IT staffing firm delivering services that range from strategic IT consulting to building modern web and mobile applications.
Our client is looking for an experienced MDM Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data integrations that connect enterprise source systems with the EnterWorks MDM hub. This role centers on building reliable ETL/ELT pipelines, implementing data transformation logic, configuring data quality rules, and ensuring consistent data synchronization across the organization.

Two MDM Data Engineers will collaborate under the leadership of the Senior MDM Lead to deliver the technical integration components of a Customer MDM solution. This position combines hands-on integration development with technical evaluation and optimization to ensure high-quality, scalable, and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Integration Development

  •  Develop source-to-stage integrations to extract customer data from multiple ERP systems (AS400, Sage variants, etc.), Salesforce CRM, and edge applications.
  •  Create stage-to-hub data pipelines to load cleansed and matched customer records into EnterWorks.
  •  Build hub-to-ERP integrations to enable bidirectional synchronization of master customer data with source systems.
  •  Implement transformation and mapping rules based on logical data model specifications.
  •  Design error handling, retry mechanisms, and exception management for all integrations.
  •  Create data validation routines to maintain data quality across pipelines.

Technical Implementation

  •  Configure data quality rules within EnterWorks, including checks for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  •  Implement matching, merging, and survivorship logic to support golden record creation.
  •  Develop and execute migration scripts for initial data loads.
  •  Build and maintain automated testing frameworks for validating integrations.
  •  Support iterative development through pilot phases and testing, progressing toward CI/CD practices.
  •  Continuously optimize integration performance, reliability, and scalability.

Technical Assessment & Documentation

  •  Evaluate source system data models, APIs, and connectivity methods.
  •  Profile source data to validate findings and guide data quality rules.
  •  Document technical designs, mappings, transformation logic, and performance requirements.
  •  Troubleshoot and resolve integration and data flow issues.
  •  Support data governance teams with monitoring dashboards and technical reporting.

Collaboration & Communication

  •  Work closely with the Senior MDM Lead to convert business requirements into technical solutions.
  •  Coordinate with MDM Hub Developers on EnterWorks configuration and data flow design.
  •  Engage with client subject matter experts to define source system access and integration strategies.
  •  Contribute technical input to project planning, estimations, and delivery timelines.

Phase Alignment

Phase 1: MDM Initiation & Solution Selection – Standardize and Govern

  •  Conduct technical assessments of source systems.
  •  Validate integration approaches and document technical designs.
  •  Set up development environments.
  •  Begin building source-to-stage integrations.

Phase 2: MDM Design, Build & Delivery – Execute and Scale

  •  Complete all integrations (source-to-stage, stage-to-hub, hub-to-ERP).
  •  Implement data quality and match/merge logic.
  •  Perform data migration and support testing and UAT.
  •  Optimize performance and support production rollout and hyper-care.

Technical Environment

  • MDM Platform: EnterWorks
  •  Source Systems: AS400 (PRMS), A+, Sage variants, Salesforce CRM, and various edge systems
  •  Integration: SQL and stored procedures, ETL/ELT tools (Informatica IDMC, Fivetran), REST/SOAP APIs, batch processing
  •  Data Quality: Profiling tools, data quality rule configuration, monitoring dashboards

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in data engineering or data integration roles.
  •  Strong expertise with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica and Fivetran preferred; Talend, SSIS, or similar acceptable).
  •  Experience working with MDM platforms, ideally EnterWorks or similar enterprise solutions.
  •  Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases.
  •  Practical experience integrating ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, AS400, Sage, or equivalent.
  •  Working knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs.
  •  Experience designing and implementing data quality frameworks.
  •  Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  •  Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
