Mobena is a small, fully remote startup of three people building the next generation of multi-generational tax and estate planning software for advisors serving America’s wealthiest families. We’re developing Mobena Evolution, our flagship product, and are now hiring our first dedicated UI Engineer to take ownership of the front end from day one. 

At the moment, there’s little to no production frontend code—so you’ll have a rare opportunity to shape the user interface from the ground up. You’ll work closely with our backend- and algorithm-focused CTO and our designer-founder to translate evolving Figma concepts into fast, scalable, and maintainable user experiences.  

What You’ll Do 

• Select and justify the frameworks and tools that best suit our product and long-term goals
  
  
• Decide whether to build on existing prototype code (currently in Vite JS) or start fresh with a more suitable stack
  
  
• Work with a standard HTTP API backend and integrate the frontend using REST, GraphQL, or similar
  
  
• Build the UI architecture from scratch, defining best practices for components, state management, styling, testing, performance, and accessibility
  
  
• Collaborate closely with design to refine—and sometimes rethink—screen concepts in Figma
  
  
• Lay the foundation for future mobile clients (mobile experience is a plus, not a requirement)
  
  
• Advocate for thoughtful technical decisions across web, cross-platform, or native approaches (React, Angular, Svelte, Qt, WASM, MAUI, Tauri, Electron, etc.)

• You’ve shipped at least one interactive product (web, desktop, or mobile) through professional work, open source, coursework, or personal projects
