Role Overview 

We are looking for a mid-level Laravel Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of multiple web applications. In this role, you will collaborate closely with fellow engineers and clients, taking ownership of features from development to deployment. The ideal candidate has at least three years of hands-on experience with Laravel, enjoys experimenting with new technologies, and takes pride in writing clean, maintainable code. 

You will be responsible for building features in PHP, submitting high-quality pull requests, and contributing to continuous improvement of development standards and best practices. While Laravel is the core technology for this role, you will also work with a variety of databases, third-party services, APIs, and modern development tools.

Location and Remote Work 

Mettle operates as a fully remote company. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, managing their own schedules, and communicating effectively through video calls and written channels. We prefer applicants located within three hours of the GMT time zone to support collaboration. 

What We’re Looking For 

A strong candidate will have:
 At least three years of professional experience with Laravel.
 A solid understanding of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
 Experience building API-driven applications.
 The ability to write and maintain automated tests.
 Hands-on experience with Git and GitHub. 

Experience with the following is a plus:
 Frontend frameworks such as Vue, React, or Livewire.
 Server administration and deployment tools including Ubuntu, Nginx, Forge, Envoyer, or Docker.
 Cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or DigitalOcean.
 Technologies like Elasticsearch, Redis, or Memcached.
 Experience with unit, integration, or acceptance testing.
