Mekdam Technical Services is hiring an Engineering Lead for static equipment work in the United States. The role is for a mechanical engineer with a background in oil and gas projects, including offshore facilities, who can lead engineering execution and work with a project management team.

This is a supervisory position. You would need to be comfortable directing engineering work, communicating across disciplines, and handling the design, construction and operations side of offshore projects.

What you will do

• Lead engineering execution for static equipment work, drawing on design standards, specifications, codes and safety criteria.
• Apply your knowledge of offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
• Work within a project management team and communicate with people across disciplines.
• Supervise engineers and take responsibility for the engineering side of the project.
• Write reports and give presentations.
• Work with mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrument, telecom and electrical teams.

What they are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering.
• 8 years of relevant experience as an engineer.
• At least 4 years in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Broad knowledge of engineering execution, including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams in offshore environments.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
• A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Computer literacy, including regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrument, telecom, piping and electrical.
