Staff Software Engineer

Are you an experienced software engineer ready to lead innovation in a dynamic and fast-growing environment? Laudio is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to play a key role in architecting, developing, and optimizing our cloud-based platform. Reporting to the Head of Product & Engineering, you will work with React, Node.js, and AWS to build scalable solutions that enhance our technology and product development.

Our team is globally distributed across the United States and Nepal, requiring effective cross-time-zone collaboration. While we emphasize asynchronous work, some early morning meetings (7 AM ET) may be necessary. 

This is a remote-first role, but we prefer candidates on the East Coast for occasional in-person collaboration. Additionally, we organize team retreats throughout the year and provide opportunities to travel to Nepal (1-2 times per year) for deeper engagement with our engineering team.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and architect scalable systems that ensure high availability, low latency, and efficiency.
  • Write and optimize code across the full stack to drive product development.
  • Provide technical mentorship through code reviews and design discussions, fostering a strong engineering culture.
  • Continuously improve our technology stack and development processes.
  • Contribute to multiple areas, including feature development, infrastructure enhancements, and resolving production issues.


 
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience
 

  • 6 to 12 years of experience as a technical leader in software engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from ideation to implementation in an agile environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React, Angular, or TypeScript for front-end development.
  • Solid backend expertise in Node.js or Python.
  • Proficiency in SQL database management, including schema design and performance tuning.
  • Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS or Azure.
  • Passion for writing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.


Preferred Qualities
 

  • Ability to work across various technologies and frameworks.
  • Comfortable making independent decisions and working autonomously.
  • Knowledge of modern software development best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and feature flagging.
  • Expertise in designing and building distributed systems.

 
Bonus Skills
 

  • Experience integrating with HL7 or ADT feeds.
  • Background in an early-stage startup or SaaS company.
  • Prior experience in a remote work environment.
  • Knowledge of CRM tools and architectures.
  • Experience integrating LLMs (Large Language Models) into SaaS products.
  • Strong understanding of data integrations.

  • Location: Remote (Preferred: East Coast US)
  • Travel: 10 to 15 percent, including team retreats and trips to Nepal
  • Reports To: Head of Product & Engineering
