Role Overview

Khan Academy is hiring a Staff Product Designer to join its Districts team and lead the design of next-generation administrative tools for schools and districts. This role focuses on building scalable design systems and improving user experiences for educators and administrators.

You will work across the full product lifecycle, combining product thinking, UX strategy, and system design to create impactful solutions that enhance learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

You will design and improve user-facing platforms with a focus on usability, engagement, and performance. The role involves creating end-to-end design artifacts such as journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and system flows. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and designers to build and refine product experiences, while also contributing to design systems and maintaining consistency across the platform. Additionally, you will conduct research, present ideas to stakeholders, and mentor team members to drive design excellence.

Requirements

Candidates should have 10+ years of experience in product design, with strong expertise in UX, interaction design, and system architecture. You should be skilled in building scalable design solutions, handling complex and ambiguous problems, and working in cross-functional teams. Excellent communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.
