To be considered, you must be currently serving in the United States military, be eligible for the SkillBridge program, and be seeking an associate, bachelor's, or master's degree in cybersecurity, computer engineering, or a related discipline. You also need exposure to core information security functions such as network and application vulnerability testing, role-based access control (RBAC), security information and event management, or computer incident management.

You should be proficient in Linux and Windows, have at least two years of information technology experience, and have exposure to three or more of the following:

Requirements and logistics

All candidates must pass a background check before starting and must be approved for the program by a commanding officer. The internship lasts a minimum of 90 days and offers a flexible schedule to accommodate out-processing.

Interns receive a laptop, docking station, monitors, keyboard and mouse, camera, and headset for remote work. Most hands-on instruction and on-the-job training is delivered through Microsoft Teams, though there may be opportunities to interact on-site. You must have a home office environment and enough internet connectivity to work remotely.

Interns are expected to perform the skills described in the training with minimal assistance. Evaluations are marked either Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory.
