Solutions Engineer | East or Central US | Remote

Grafana Labs is hiring a Solutions Engineer for the East or Central US, working remotely. You would be a customer-facing product expert on the Commercial Solutions Engineering team, which educates potential and existing customers and partners with Sales to qualify and close opportunities.

This is an early spot on a growing team. The company says it needs people who can hit the ground running now, with plans to add more junior team members later.

What you will do

• Partner with Sales to explain the Grafana value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers
• Own the technical engagement with customers and help close high-velocity opportunities through competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility
• Deliver product and technical presentations to potential and existing customers
• Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams to feed back what you learn about the products and the competitive landscape
• Drive product conversations based on needs and problems that come up in customer interactions
• Help the team improve documentation, write blog posts, record videos, contribute knowledge base articles, and create other public and internal enablement material

What they are looking for

• Ideally located on the East Coast or Central Region of the US
• 5+ years of technical pre-sales experience, ideally with open source technologies or in the metrics or monitoring space
• Strong judgment, collaboration, and leadership, since duties at a startup are varied and complex
• Ability to work and collaborate with an international team at a remote-first company
• First-class written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain the value proposition and technical advantages of the products
• Enjoyment of technical challenges and bringing creative solutions to customers
• A technical mindset and a desire to grow technically. The company says great candidates may be a recent coding bootcamp grad or have previous post-sales or engineering experience
• Self-motivation, initiative, and creativity

Pay and location

In the United States, the OTE (On-Target Earnings) range for this role is $182,000 to $226,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed during the interview process. All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

The role is remote, and Grafana Labs is a 100% remote company with 1,600+ team members across 40+ countries. New hires go through in-person onboarding. The company operates a global annual leave policy of 30 days per year, with 3 days reserved for Grafana Shutdown Days, and will comply with local legislation where applicable.
