As a Loan Servicing Representative, you will support recovery efforts for accounts that are 5 to 80 days past due, helping minimize losses while maintaining positive customer relationships. You will assist customers with common inquiries such as interest accrual, payment schedules, and due date adjustments, using a combination of automated and manual calling methods to reach customers and arrange payment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
You will contact customers by phone to discuss overdue balances, set up payment arrangements, and respond to questions regarding account status, payment options, or collection actions. You will accurately document all customer interactions and account activity using internal collections systems and software.
You will review delinquent accounts to determine appropriate outreach strategies, identify higher-risk cases, and escalate complex issues or disputes to senior team members or management when necessary. You will monitor payment patterns, proactively engage customers who may be experiencing financial challenges, and work to reduce delinquency while meeting individual and team performance targets.
You will collaborate with internal departments, including legal and customer service teams, to resolve account issues and support consistent best practices across the organization. You will ensure full compliance with company policies and applicable regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and other relevant guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates should have up to three years of relevant experience, preferably in collections, customer service, or a related field, with a demonstrated ability to manage delinquent accounts.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to reach fair, workable payment agreements with customers are essential. You should have a solid understanding of collections processes, payment systems, and compliance requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organization, and the ability to manage a large volume of accounts efficiently are important for success in this role.
Proficiency with collections software and standard office tools is required. You should be comfortable handling challenging customer interactions with professionalism, empathy, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team, maintain attention to detail, and stay goal-oriented in a performance-driven environment is essential.
Compensation and Employment Details
This is a remote position. Compensation typically ranges from USD 18.25 to USD 22.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Individual compensation packages are determined based on multiple job-related factors.
