Position Summary

The Risk Officer will play a vital role in building and enhancing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team and framework. This position involves structuring core risk data to support the implementation of programs, risk assessments, and response strategies.

This role is responsible for overseeing risk within domains such as finance, technology, and operations, offering consultation, monitoring performance, and supporting strategic risk-reduction initiatives. The Risk Officer will partner with various internal stakeholders to conduct thorough analysis, support compliance, and promote operational efficiency—all while improving customer experience through effective risk controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply deep knowledge in finance, technology, or operations to assess and advise on organizational risk
  
  
• Design and execute enterprise-wide monitoring, analysis, and reporting frameworks for multiple risk categories, including market, credit, liquidity, operational, and regulatory risks
  
  
• Lead cross-functional projects that span multiple business units and risk domains
  
  
• Conduct and document root cause analyses; lead the development of remediation plans
  
  
• Deliver executive-level risk reports and contribute insights to board committees
  
  
• Stay current on industry regulations and maintain familiarity with internal policies and procedures
  
  
• Coach and mentor junior colleagues as needed; serve as a subject matter expert
  
  
• Execute additional tasks or special projects as assigned
  
  

Candidate Qualifications

• Strong foundation in enterprise risk management practices and frameworks
  
  
• Deep curiosity with the ability to connect data across systems and departments
  
  
• Strong capability in developing user-friendly program processes and tools
  
  
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations, internal control structures, and risk identification
  
  
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects independently
  
  
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to present to varied audiences
  
  
• Strategic thinker with solid critical thinking and analytical skills
  
  

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting required
  
  
• 3–5 years of professional experience in a financial institution or similar organization
  
  
• Prior experience in Risk Management, Audit, or Finance preferred
  
  

Technical Proficiency

• Strong command of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  
  
• Experience using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)
  
  
• Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools is a plus

• This role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities
