The client’s team develops Mail for Android, iOS, and Web—serving 200M+ users in over 40 countries and 70 languages. As one of the world’s largest email platforms, we deliver more than 4.5 billion emails daily, supported by top-rated mobile apps. Mail is a core pillar of our long-term strategy, and we’re committed to delivering an exceptional user experience.

About the Project

We are modernizing and upgrading the webmail interface to improve user satisfaction and stay competitive with leading global email providers. The team manages the main webmail experience, the mobile web version, and the classic web client.

Role Details

  • Remote

  • 6–12 month contract

  • 40 hrs/week preferred (part-time available)

  • MacBook provided by the client

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong technical leadership in a fast-moving environment

  • Uphold engineering best practices: design reviews, code reviews, CI/CD, TDD

  • Build high-quality, high-performance features with Node.js and React.js

  • Work closely with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers

  • Write reliable, testable code and support continuous deployment

  • Improve application performance, scalability, and stability

  • Operate and monitor production systems at global scale

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) and 6+ years of experience

  • Solid CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, and software design

  • Expertise in React, Redux, Node.js, and responsive design

  • Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript

  • Experience with: Node, HTTP, JSON, Webpack, Babel

  • TDD experience with tools such as: Jest, WebdriverIO, Enzyme, Protractor, React Testing Library

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or maintaining email applications

  • Strong mobile web development background

  • Familiarity with Agile workflows (Scrum, Squad, etc.)
