Community Manager, Dutch Speaking (Contract)
Reddit · Remote - The Netherlands · posted 1 day ago
Reddit is hiring a Dutch-speaking Community Manager on a contract basis to join its International Community team and help grow Reddit outside the US. The role is for someone with a background in community management, growth or operations who knows the Dutch market closely and can build relationships with local volunteer moderators. This contract engagement is open to candidates based in the Netherlands.
Reddit describes itself as a community of communities, with more than 100,000 active communities and roughly 130 million daily active unique visitors. The International Community team sits within the International Growth team, and this role supports Reddit's stated mission of bringing community and belonging to everyone in the world.
What you will do
- Gain a deep understanding of the Dutch market to identify challenges for users and local moderators, and to spot market opportunities.
- Iterate, innovate and scale the consumer growth playbook by recognising new opportunities, suggesting ideas and programs, and persuading internal teams to align on new plans.
- Build strategic plans to cultivate, recruit, educate and grow a local community of moderators — volunteers who develop, maintain and shape the culture of local communities. Implement a conversion funnel designed to onboard power users and external creators and turn them into active moderators.
- Communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to optimise and improve the international consumer growth playbook.
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data, set KPIs and run community initiatives, using data to uncover community and moderator insights that influence the direction of the local team in the market.
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Community, Engineering, Marketing, Safety and BD teams.
What they are looking for
- 5+ years of experience in community development, project management, growth, operations or product consulting, with a track record of community-led projects that have driven business impact.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of Dutch culture, including current events, politics, customs, traditions, language, topics of interest and taboos.
- A nuanced grasp of the digital landscape and its cultural intricacies, including awareness of internet culture specific to the Netherlands and an appreciation for the diverse cultural facets shaping contemporary Dutch society.
- A succinct, persuasive communicator able to collaborate across internal teams, local users, moderators, partners, content creators and influencers.
- Results-focused, with strong execution and high attention to detail.
- Deep interest in developing and driving projects, framing issues and seeking solutions, testing hypotheses and iterating on process improvements.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English.
