We’re looking for experienced software engineers who want to contribute their coding expertise to train AI models. Our collaboration with organizations focuses on training large language models, helping advanced AI systems improve their ability to write code. These projects involve engaging with the AI models as they learn, tackling diverse and challenging problems. Previous AI experience is not required for this role.

Opportunity Overview 

Outlier is seeking talented coders to help train generative artificial intelligence models. This is a remote, freelance position with flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever suits you best. 

Key Responsibilities 

As a contributor, you will engage in tasks such as: 

• Crafting and answering questions related to computer science to train AI models. 
• Evaluating and ranking code generated by AI to ensure its quality and functionality. 

Required Expertise 

Ideal candidates will have: 

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science from a prestigious institution or be currently enrolled. 
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, Swift, or Verilog. 
• The ability to articulate complex technical concepts fluently in Dutch. 
• Strong attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation, and style. 

Compensation Details 

Core project work typically pays between $25 and $50 per hour, with rates depending on expertise, skills assessment, location, and project needs. Higher rates may apply for PhDs, while non-core work or onboarding may be paid at a lower rate. Some projects offer additional incentives, so it's important to review the terms for each project individually.
