Breakthrough Design Group (BDG) is seeking a skilled Web Developer & UX Designer to join our team on a contract basis (15-25 hours/week) with potential for a full-time role. This position is ideal for someone passionate about building high-performance websites, web applications, and digital experiences that blend functionality and design.

Role & Responsibilities

• Convert web designs into responsive HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress pages.
  
  
• Design and develop enterprise websites, web software applications, and mobile-optimized solutions.
  
  
• Assist in WordPress theme development and SEO implementation for better search visibility.
  
  
• Optimize sites for cross-browser compatibility across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
  
  
• Collaborate with developers to integrate front-end UI with back-end functionality.
  
  
• Maintain and enhance existing websites with modern UX/UI best practices.
  
  

Required Skills & Expertise

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  
  
• Experience with Photoshop, Figma, or Sketch for UI/UX design.
  
  
• Strong understanding of mobile-first & responsive design principles.
  
  
• Hands-on experience with WordPress development.
  
  
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and their impact on website performance.
  
  
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and solutions.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal education or strong passion for graphic design and typography.
  
  
• Experience with CSS libraries and frameworks.
  
  
• Proficiency in WooCommerce, PHP, and MySQL.
  
  
• Experience using Google Analytics, Gmail/Google Workspace, and SEO tools.
  
  
• Ownership of iPhone, iPad, or Android devices for mobile testing.
