The role is for an engineer with at least five years of industry experience who wants to change how AI hardware is developed, using AI-driven automation to reshape how ASICs are conceived, explored, and finished. You will work alongside an ASIC development team to build architectures and end-to-end workflows that go beyond traditional infrastructure across logic design, verification, and physical design.

What you will do

  • Look across the ASIC development lifecycle to find cross-stage bottlenecks and places where automation and AI can improve predictability, convergence, and turnaround time.
  • Identify, curate, and use real-time data to support AI models and analytics, working with infrastructure teams on scalable and secure data pipelines.
  • Set quantitative metrics for efficiency, quality, and cycle-time improvements, and use data-driven insights to guide methodology decisions and investment priorities.
  • Act as a technical catalyst within the team and across the company by sharing best practices, publishing internal guidelines, and mentoring engineers on AI-enabled development techniques.
  • Track advances in AI, EDA, and hardware design research, judge how they apply, and help guide strategic bets that align with long-term product and technology roadmaps.

What they are looking for

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of proven industry experience.
  • A proven track record developing ASIC design frameworks and flows.
  • First-hand experience with RTL, functional verification, formal verification, or physical design would be an asset.
  • High-level programming skills, including Python, PERL, Make, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with AI frameworks, including knowledge of agentic flow development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with colleagues.

Pay and benefits

The base salary range is CAD 135,000 to 185,000 for Level 3 and CAD 170,000 to 220,000 for Level 4. Your base salary will be determined by your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
