Apply by 28 October 2026 · Closes today
Netflix is hiring a Senior Applied AI Lead for its Talent AI team. This role sits between product management and engineering: you bring Talent domain knowledge and hands-on AI skills, and you build working prototypes that show stakeholders what is possible before engineers get involved. It is for someone who has shipped AI-powered tools, understands how Talent functions work, and can move an idea from a rough demo to a production partnership.
What you will do
- Work with Talent teams to find the highest-value AI opportunities and decide which ones are worth building.
- Define problem statements, scope solutions, and prioritize — separating high-leverage AI applications from novelty.
- Learn Talent's data landscape, workflow pain points, and strategic priorities to understand where AI can have lasting impact.
- Design and build working AI prototypes, from scoping the problem to putting a functional demo in front of stakeholders.
- Use LLM APIs, agent frameworks, AI-native platforms, and workflow automation tools to iterate quickly without dedicated engineering resources.
- Turn validated prototypes into product requirements and partner with engineering to move from proof-of-concept to production.
- Act as the domain and product authority for Talent AI features in technical design discussions.
- Stay involved through deployment and adoption to make sure the solution delivers value.
- Evaluate AI tools, platforms, and vendors, and form a clear view on what to adopt, integrate, or build custom.
- Keep up with the changing AI landscape and translate new capabilities into practical Talent opportunities.
- Build playbooks, prompting guides, and workflow blueprints that help Talent teams get real leverage from AI tools.
- Develop other Talent team members' AI fluency through hands-on sessions, shared examples, and clear frameworks.
- Design every AI solution with data privacy, security, and fairness in mind, working with Legal, Infosec, and other teams from the start.
- Partner with central teams to track and monitor AI tool engagement, fluency, and business outcomes.
- Contribute to Talent AI's governance frameworks for evaluating, deploying, and monitoring AI tools.
What they are looking for
- 6+ years in product management, applied AI, technical solutions, or a closely related field, ideally with experience in both a Talent/HR function and a product or technical team.
- A track record of building with AI: LLM APIs, prompt engineering, agent frameworks such as LangChain or CrewAI, and AI-native tools used to create working prototypes without heavy engineering support.
- Experience taking solutions from concept through to production deployment, including technical, organizational, and data infrastructure realities.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders without authority, with credibility that comes from insight and delivered work.
- Strong understanding of Talent processes and their data and workflow characteristics: Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Compensation & Employee Programs, Talent Operations.
- Fluency with modern AI tools and paradigms: LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic systems, multimodal models, and AI workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with HR technology platforms such as Workday and Eightfold, including their integration and API capabilities, is an advantage.
- Comfort with data: able to query a dataset, interpret analytics, and design measurement frameworks without needing a data scientist for every question.
- Clear communication: translating complex AI capabilities into crisp problem statements and business cases for non-technical Talent leaders, and translating fuzzy business problems into buildable solutions for engineers.
