Senior Software Developer

D2L is hiring senior software developers in Canada to work on a range of technologies, including distributed systems, machine learning, user interfaces, mobile and cloud computing. The company builds learning platforms used in schools, campuses and companies. This posting is not for a current vacancy; it is for future candidate consideration.

What you will do

Senior developers at D2L write code, make technical decisions and share knowledge so that teams become more productive and effective. Your ideas and perspectives feed into decisions about which technology the company invests in. You will work with engineering best practices and may mentor junior developers.

What they are looking for

• Strong communication skills for technical discussions and collaboration
• Experience with object-oriented design and proficient coding skills in C++, C# or Java
• A strong understanding of computer science topics: data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems
• A body of work showing a consistent ability to complete technically challenging work
• Acumen with artificial intelligence tools
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a similar technical discipline
• Developers at this level typically have 5+ years of experience
• Strong execution, autonomy and mentoring of junior developers

Pay and benefits

The expected base salary range for a new hire is CAD 90,000 to 130,000 per year. The annualized base salary offered depends on each candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience, and is set against market data for the geographic location and industry. The role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive and more.
