Remote Infrastructure Data Scientist – Staff Level

Key Responsibilities:

Define Metrics and Success Criteria

Establish clear metrics for success by quantifying goals that balance infrastructure spending with business and product growth. Ensure measurable objectives align with organizational priorities.

Monitor Progress and Performance

Develop and maintain dashboards, forecast models, and analyses to track progress against infrastructure objectives. Regularly assess and report on performance trends.

Uncover Strategic Insights

Perform in-depth data analyses to identify opportunities for improving strategies. Provide actionable recommendations to enhance decision-making and business outcomes.

Provide Leadership and Guidance

As the senior data scientist, set strategic priorities, oversee project execution, and foster a culture of data excellence within the team. Guide and mentor team members to elevate their capabilities.

Collaborate Across Departments

Work closely with Engineering, Finance, and Technical Program Management teams to align efforts, optimize workflows, and achieve cross-functional success.

Qualifications and Experience

Extensive Data Science Expertise

  • 8+ years of post-graduate experience in academia or industry applying scientific methods to solve large-scale data challenges.
  • Proven ability to handle complex web-scale data problems with innovative solutions.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, R).
  • Advanced SQL/Hive skills for data manipulation and querying.

Business and Product Acumen

  • Ability to transform vague business questions into structured analyses and actionable metrics.
  • Strong understanding of business needs and product goals.

Exceptional Communication Skills

  • Skilled at leading cross-functional initiatives and presenting findings effectively to leadership and product teams.

Leadership in Technical Projects

  • Demonstrated experience in driving critical technical projects and mentoring teams to deliver high-quality results.

Salary and Equity

  • Base salary range for US-based applicants: $148,049—$304,496 USD.
  • Includes equity, with compensation tailored based on experience, expertise, and location.
