The Role

As a Senior Java Backend Engineer, you will design and develop high-performance backend systems for AI-powered applications. You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities
 

• Build and maintain scalable, secure backend systems
  
  
• Develop REST APIs using modern, API-first approaches
  
  
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  
  
• Use AI tools to accelerate development and debugging
  
  
• Collaborate in agile teams (code reviews, sprints, releases)
  
  
• Troubleshoot production issues using logs and system insights
  
  
• Continuously improve system performance and code quality
  
  

Requirements
 

• 7+ years of backend/software development experience
  
  
• Strong expertise in Java (SaaS/PaaS environments)
  
  
• Experience with Spring / Spring Boot, Maven, ORM frameworks
  
  
• Strong experience building REST APIs
  
  
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS
  
  
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and production systems
  
  
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  
  
• Strong communication skills (English)
  
  
• Experience working in remote/distributed teams
  
  

AI & Modern Development Skills
 

• Experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Codex, or similar)
  
  
• Ability to work with AI copilots and agent-based workflows
  
  
• Use AI tools for debugging, code navigation, and faster delivery
  
  
• Basic understanding of LLMs and their integration into apps (plus)
