Role Overview

Sanctuary Computer is hiring a Senior Frontend Developer (Contract) to build visually stunning, high-performance web applications. You will work on diverse client projects, from immersive brand websites to complex applications, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and top-tier performance.

This role is primarily targeted at candidates based in the U.S. West Coast or Mountain Time Zone.

Key Responsibilities

•  Develop scalable, high-performance frontend applications using modern frameworks 
•  Collaborate with technical leads and designers to deliver client-focused solutions 
•  Build responsive, accessible, and pixel-perfect user interfaces 
•  Integrate frontend systems with APIs, headless CMS, and third-party services 
•  Optimize performance (load time, bundle size, runtime efficiency) 
•  Create and maintain component libraries and design systems 
•  Participate in sprint planning, standups, and code reviews 
•  Write clear, maintainable documentation 

Requirements

•  8+ years of frontend development experience 
•  Expert in TypeScript and frameworks like Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, or Svelte 
•  Experience with headless CMS (Sanity, Contentful, Prismic) 
•  Strong knowledge of modern CSS (Tailwind, CSS Modules) and animations 
•  Experience with state management (Redux, Zustand, Pinia) 
•  Familiarity with testing tools (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) 
•  Expertise in performance optimization and SEO best practices 
•  Experience with cloud platforms (Vercel, Netlify, Firebase) 
•  Strong collaboration and communication skills 

Nice to Have

•  WebGL, Three.js, or advanced animations 
•  Data visualization tools (D3.js, Chart.js, Mapbox) 
•  Full-stack development experience 
•  GraphQL and API design knowledge 
•  Real-time technologies (WebSockets, SSE)

Compensation & Work Style

•  $100–$130 per hour (based on experience)
