About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer on our ORM team, you’ll play a crucial role in developing Prisma’s core products, collaborating with a talented team, and engaging with our open-source community. Your responsibilities will include:

• Enhancing the Prisma Query Engine and helping create a world-class ORM.
• Collaborating on the Prisma Client to deliver exceptional features for developers.
• Leveraging your expertise in databases and system architecture to design user-friendly, high-performing solutions.
• Writing well-documented, thoroughly tested, and maintainable code for both internal and community contributions.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a candidate who meets many of the following criteria:

Essential Skills

• At least 5+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer or equivalent.
• Professional experience with Rust.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, or MSSQL, including schema design and query performance optimization.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A collaborative mindset, with the ability to give and receive feedback constructively.
• Planning and task estimation skills to manage project workflows effectively.

Bonus Skills

• Systems-level programming experience.
• Familiarity with TypeScript or JavaScript.
• Experience writing high-performance server code for scalable applications.
• A background in building developer tools.
