Position Overview: Oracle APEX Developer 

Michael Baker International is seeking a skilled Oracle APEX Developer to join its development team. This role focuses on building new low-code web applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX) and enhancing existing solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, and deliver reliable, user-friendly applications that support operational efficiency. 

This position is hands-on and ideal for a developer who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with non-technical users, and building high-quality enterprise applications. 

U.S. citizenship is required for this role.

 
Key Responsibilities
 

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Oracle APEX applications based on business requirements
  
  
• Maintain and enhance existing APEX solutions, including debugging, performance optimization, and feature enhancements
  
  
• Partner with business users and analysts to understand workflows, identify gaps, and recommend APEX-based solutions
  
  
• Convert business requirements into technical designs, including UI/UX layouts, data models, workflows, and integrations
  
  
• Build secure, responsive, and maintainable applications using APEX features such as Interactive Reports, Interactive Grids, Charts, Forms, Dynamic Actions, REST services, and Automations
  
  
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT to ensure production readiness
  
  
• Apply security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and row-level security
  
  
• Create technical documentation and user guides to support long-term maintenance
  
  
• Stay current with new Oracle APEX releases and features, including workflow and AI-assisted capabilities, and recommend continuous improvements
  
  

Required Qualifications
 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  
  
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing web applications using Oracle APEX (recent versions preferred)
  
  
• Strong expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and database design and performance tuning
  
  
• Proven experience working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions
  
  
• Solid understanding of front-end web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design
  
  
• Track record of delivering secure, maintainable, and user-friendly production applications
  
  

Preferred Skills
 

• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (Forms, OAF, APIs, data models, customizations)
  
  
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud technologies (OCI, OIC, ORDS, APEX in cloud environments)
  
  
• Knowledge of system integrations using REST/SOAP APIs
  
  
• Experience with advanced APEX features such as workflows, automations, mobile-friendly apps, and custom UI enhancements
  
  
• Exposure to enterprise SDLC practices including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and Agile methodologies
  
  
• Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle APEX Developer) are a plus
  
  
• Strong communication skills for working with non-technical stakeholders
  
  

Compensation
 
The estimated salary range for this position is USD 130,000 – 150,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, skill set, and work location. Final compensation will be determined by individual factors at the time of hire.
