Apply by 28 November 2026 · Closes 28 Nov 2026
Teya is hiring a Business Development Manager for a field-based sales role in the United Kingdom. You will work face-to-face with local businesses in your territory, building relationships and bringing in new customers. This is for someone with a track record in sales who wants to own their patch and help shape how a growing sales team works.
What you will do
- Reach KPIs with little guidance and keep CRM records, reporting and pipeline visibility accurate
- Find and engage prospective customers in your territory through outbound outreach, networking and referrals
- Meet customers in person to understand their needs, challenges and goals, and build trust through consultative, value-led conversations
- Expand Teya's reach into new segments and win larger, high-value and multi-location clients, using your past connections among other things
- Learn Teya's products and solutions through internal and external training, and coach and support junior sales agents through training and knowledge-sharing
- Share insights on customer needs, competitors and market opportunities to improve products, messaging, sales processes and the merchant experience, and identify partnership potential and integrations
- Take part in cross-functional strategic projects and suggest improvements that affect results and quality of delivery
- Represent Teya as a professional, values-led ambassador in your territory
- Build long-term customer relationships by spotting upsell and cross-sell opportunities
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance sales culture that values learning and continuous improvement
What they are looking for
- A verifiable track record of quota attainment
- Strong prospecting discipline and pipeline management
- Sound commercial judgement and negotiation capability
- A competitive mindset and a genuine desire to win
- Strong experience in a customer-facing or sales-related role; field-based experience is a strong advantage
- Confidence building relationships and engaging new customers
- Strong organisation and time-management skills, particularly in a field-based environment
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving business
- A proactive, self-driven mindset and a genuine desire to learn and develop
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Fluency in English
- A full UK driving licence
You should already understand what it takes to succeed in sales: prospecting, handling rejection, owning your number. Teya wants people who have built pipeline from scratch, closed against a target, and can raise the bar for those around them from day one. You need to stay coachable and be open to adapting to Teya's way of selling.
Location and hours
This is a full field sales role. You must be based in Surrey.
Pay and benefits
- Competitive basic salary plus commission, with typical on-target earnings of £70,000 in your first year
- 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
- Physical and mental health support through a partnership with Wellhub, 1-1 therapy sessions, meditation sessions, and access to digital fitness and nutrition apps
- Extended and improved maternity and paternity leave choices
- Private medical and life insurance
- Pension scheme
