Tailscale is hiring a Product Marketing Manager to join its marketing team. You will work with product, marketing, and revenue teams to understand customer needs and pain points, explain why Tailscale is the right choice, and turn those insights into material the company can take to market. The role is for someone who knows PAM, networking infrastructure, or enterprise security, and who can translate technical features into clear benefits.
Tailscale is an early-stage, fully remote company. The job posting says it wants someone who is comfortable working asynchronously, can handle ambiguity, and cares about getting it right rather than being right.
What you will do
- Become the expert on users and customers: who they are, what their pain points are, and what drives them to look for solutions.
- Work with sales, product, and marketing teams to develop and refine product positioning, messaging, and content.
- Launch new products or features, manage the cross-functional projects tied to each launch, and measure the revenue and pipeline it generates.
- Create sales collateral and enablement materials such as slide decks, one-pagers, training sessions, customer case studies, and webinars. This includes delegating work to and working with designers, web developers, and content marketers as needed.
- Do competitive and market analysis to inform messaging and campaigns and to influence product strategy.
- Represent product marketing at industry events by giving demos and gathering firsthand insights from customers and prospects to shape messaging and campaign strategy.
- Help drive sales pipeline.
What they are looking for
- At least 5+ years of experience in product marketing, working with sales teams, and sales enablement.
- A proven track record in marketing, product marketing, sales enablement, product management, or a related field, with a minimum of 5+ years of direct experience.
- An affinity for complex, highly technical subjects.
- Experience managing interdependent, complex projects and keeping multiple work streams on track.
- An analytical, data-driven mindset with enthusiasm for problem-solving and measuring the effectiveness of your work.
- The ability to adapt and react quickly to changing plans and ambiguity.
- Excellent people skills. The role interacts with many cross-functional teams, so communicating and negotiating effectively is critical.
- A bias toward action, execution, and iteration.
Nice to have
- Startup experience.
- Experience with networking or security products used in SaaS or cloud environments.
Pay and benefits
The Canada pay range for this role is CAD 190,280 to 237,180 per year. Tailscale says its compensation package includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The posted range is the target range for a new hire's base salary, and individual offers may vary based on experience and skill set.
Benefits listed in the posting include group benefits with no waiting period for health, vision, and dental coverage for you and your family; employer-funded retirement contributions matched dollar-for-dollar up to a maximum annual employer contribution equal to 0.75% of eligible compensation; $1500 USD annually for professional development; a flexible paid time off program; a company-owned laptop (Mac or PC), a monthly home internet reimbursement, and $500 USD to set up your workstation; and paid parental leave top-ups of 20 weeks for birthing parents and 16 weeks for non-birthing parents.
Tailscale is a remote-first company, and most teams work fully remotely. Employees can use a corporate co-working program to visit WeWork or similar spaces. The posting notes that some roles require in-office collaboration depending on team needs, which would be clearly noted in the job description. The company holds an annual retreat and team off-sites, and teammates are located across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.
