Multigres Engineer

Supabase is hiring a Multigres Engineer to work on Multigres, its open-source distributed database system that brings horizontal scaling to Postgres. This is a deeply technical role for someone with experience in distributed databases and systems, and it is fully remote.

Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. It provides a backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search, with all services deeply integrated and designed for growth.

What you will do

• Design and implement query routing logic for sharded databases
• Build consensus and replication systems to support distributed durability
• Develop materialization pipelines for migrations and change data capture
• Contribute to connection pooling infrastructure and intelligent workload isolation
• Collaborate with the open-source community on Multigres development

You will architect and implement distributed database infrastructure including sharding, consensus protocols, and materialization systems. You will also work closely with the Postgres, networking, and infrastructure teams.
