Pavilion is hiring a Vice President of Marketing to lead growth for a community of nearly 10,000 go-to-market professionals. The role covers demand generation, member lifecycle marketing, brand, and team leadership, and it reports into company leadership. It is a remote-friendly position based in the United States.
This is a hands-on leadership job. Pavilion wants someone who has personally built and run acquisition programs, not only directed agencies, and who has built AI agents or automated workflows for marketing work. You will lead a team of three to four people.
What you will do
Growth oversight takes up roughly 30% of the role. You will run paid, SEO, and event acquisition programs, whether in-house or through agencies, and you will manage those agencies with enough credibility to challenge their strategy rather than pass it along. You will keep ROI discipline and brand alignment across acquisition, and test new channels for reaching GTM professionals globally.
On the AI side, you will build and deploy agents and automated workflows that support marketing functions such as content production, segmentation, campaign reporting, and lead scoring. You will be expected to bring specific examples of tools or agents you have built and the impact they had, whether that was time saved, output increased, or cost reduced. You will also keep current on emerging AI technology and put it into team workflows.
For member lifecycle marketing, you will create programs that drive activation, engagement, and renewal, and partner with Sales and Success on onboarding, nurture, and milestone communications. You will develop referral and win-back campaigns that turn satisfied members into advocates.
On brand and communications, you will lead Pavilion's presence across web, social, events, and content, and oversee thought leadership, PR, and storytelling. You will work with the Education and Community teams to highlight member success and insights.
As a leader, you will build an integrated marketing plan that balances brand storytelling, lifecycle engagement, and scalable growth, and translate Pavilion's mission into clear messaging from awareness through renewal. You will partner with leadership on brand architecture and positioning, define and measure success across acquisition, retention, and member satisfaction, and establish KPIs, dashboards, and optimization frameworks. You will lead a small team and set the tone for collaboration, accountability, and creative work.
What they are looking for
- 8+ years in marketing, including 3–5 in leadership within membership, community, or subscription models
- Direct, hands-on demand generation experience building and running paid, SEO, or other acquisition programs, not solely managing agencies
- Proven success in integrated brand and lifecycle marketing
- Experience managing agencies or contractors for acquisition programs
- Hands-on experience building AI agents or AI-driven workflows for marketing, with the ability to name specific tools or systems built and describe their measurable impact
- Strong content and communications background, with comfort in analytics and budgets
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Preferred: experience in B2B SaaS or professional development, and understanding of retention tactics, event marketing, and community storytelling
What success looks like
In the first 90 days, Pavilion expects you to audit demand generation and lifecycle performance, identify quick wins for engagement and retention, recommend and begin building AI tools and process improvements, and build alignment with leadership and member-facing teams.
Within the first year, success means improved engagement, retention, and referral metrics; efficient, brand-aligned acquisition with demonstrated hands-on demand gen contribution; clear ROI from AI agents and workflows built and deployed within the team; a unified brand and communication framework; and marketing positioned as a driver of both growth and member satisfaction.
Pay and benefits
The salary range is USD 200,000 to 225,000 per year, plus a performance bonus tied to acquisition, retention, and engagement. Pavilion also offers stock options, health benefits, a professional development budget, a flexible remote-friendly work environment, and access to Pavilion membership and education.
About Pavilion
Pavilion started in the early 2010s when founder Sam Jacobs found that the higher he climbed in go-to-market leadership, the lonelier the work became. Peer conversations that mixed strategy and support grew into a global community of GTM professionals. Today Pavilion serves nearly 10,000 members worldwide, with what it describes as industry-leading retention and profitability, and over $10M ARR.
