This is a full-time remote position, though the job location is listed as Boston, MA.

  • Query data, map fields, and analyze structure on potential new data sources to evaluate fit and integrate them into existing core schemas.
  • Run exploratory data analysis to find discrepancies, handle missing values, deduplicate records, and check data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Investigate data anomalies in the Veeva Compass product suite and test planned and unplanned data changes for downstream customer impact.
  • Build interactive dashboards to track data quality metrics, and contribute to technical documentation, validation reports, and team process improvements.
  • Work with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Developers to explain data quality issues, find root causes, and build data pipelines.

What they are looking for

  • 4+ years of experience analyzing record-level prescription and medical claims datasets.
  • 4+ years of experience in health data quality analysis, data profiling, and data governance principles.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with extensive experience querying, manipulating, and aggregating large-scale relational databases.
  • Deep working knowledge of healthcare code sets and industry standards, including NDC, ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, LOINC, and payer/plan reference data.
  • Experience analyzing, visualizing, and presenting data quality findings to stakeholders using Excel, BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Sigma, or interactive dashboards.
  • A problem-solving mindset and willingness to dig into complex, unstructured healthcare data issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM, quantitative, or healthcare informatics field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Python.
  • Experience with the BI tool Sigma.
  • Experience in the life science industry.

Interview process

Veeva lays out the steps: submit your resume through the application process, then within 3 days you receive a link to a personality assessment run by a third party. After you complete the assessment, the team reviews your full application package and follows up by email with a decision. If you move to the interview stage, the process is a conversation with the hiring manager, a practical case exercise, and a final conversation with the group's Senior Leader. After all interviews, the manager will be in touch with a final decision.
