Product Consultant, Personal Lines Property & Specialty at Liberty Mutual — remote job on CafeRemote

Liberty Mutual is hiring a Product Consultant for its US Retail Markets Personal Lines Specialty Product organization, on the Specialty Frontier and Product Development team. The role splits time between Frontier work and new product development, and it is based in the United States. It suits someone with several years of product, data, or business experience who can move between strategic questions and the tactical steps needed to bring a product to market.

What you will do

On the Frontier side, you will drive product convergence analysis: identifying research opportunities, conducting product research, and recommending go-forward solutions. You will work with Specialty Product Directors, Delivery, USDS, Experience, IT, and other cross-functional teams to define and document converged product requirements. You will develop and manage roadmaps and project plans for initiatives such as Umbrella renewal migration and legacy Book consolidation, tracking risks, dependencies, and key milestones. Part of the job is gaining consensus on your recommendations across stakeholders in the Specialty Product ecosystem, and contributing to business simplification project timelines and roadmaps while monitoring risks and dependencies.

On the product development side, you will lead research and discovery for new product concepts: designing experiments, synthesizing competitor and customer insights, and producing recommendations. You will translate exploratory findings into testable requirements and partner with Delivery and USDS to run pilots or proofs-of-concept. You will also communicate findings to senior stakeholders and help decide which concepts move forward through the product development lifecycle.

What they are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information management, economics, or another quantitative field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience, typically 6 years or more.
  • Knowledge of data query languages and tools, proficiency with new and emerging technologies, and possibly data modeling skills.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of data concepts, strategies, and methodologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of data architectures, solutions, and designs, plus extensive knowledge of business operations, strategies, and objectives.
  • Highly developed negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.
