Innergy Consulting Pte. Ltd is hiring a Regional Corporate Counsel to support a global shipping client. The role covers corporate financing transactions, strategic investments, asset acquisitions and disposals, and cross-border commercial projects across APAC. It is suited to a qualified lawyer with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience who has worked on heavy-asset M&A or financing transactions.
What you will do
- Lead and provide legal support on corporate financing, strategic investments, asset acquisitions and disposals, and other complex commercial transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and transaction documents.
- Advise internal stakeholders on corporate governance, financing, procurement, technology, intellectual property, real estate, and regulatory matters.
- Support regional business initiatives, including cross-border projects, joint ventures, and M&A activities across APAC.
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks while providing practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- Manage external counsel where required and ensure legal compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
What they are looking for
- A qualified lawyer with 10+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Strong experience in corporate M&A, financing transactions, or other complex commercial transactions, preferably involving capital-intensive or asset-heavy industries.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.
- Familiarity with cross-border transactions and advising regional stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
- Prior in-house experience within a multinational corporation is advantageous but not essential.
Other details
The role is based in the United States and supports a global shipping client, with work spanning APAC. Heavy-asset M&A experience is preferred over financing transactions, though either background is acceptable.
