Apply by 28 October 2026 · Closes today
Experience Senior Living is hiring a Wellness Specialist to support its communities as a mobile clinical resource. This role is fully travel-based, deploying to communities that are dealing with vacancies, transitions, performance gaps, regulatory risk, or other operational strain in their Health & Wellness and Memory Care functions. It is a good fit for a nurse with senior living leadership experience who wants to work hands-on with different teams rather than manage one building.
The Specialist works alongside community teams, providing clinical expertise, training, coaching, and direct operational support. The role does not carry permanent supervisory responsibility, but it may temporarily take on essential functions of the Director of Health & Wellness during vacancies, onboarding periods, or short-term assignments.
What you will do
- Serve as an on-site clinical expert and operational resource to Executive Directors, Directors of Health & Wellness, and wellness teams.
- Provide hands-on support in resident assessments, care planning, medication management, staffing, documentation, clinical oversight, and clinical decision-making.
- Temporarily assume Director of Health & Wellness or Director of Memory Care responsibilities during vacancies, leaves of absence, onboarding periods, or periods of increased need, ensuring continuity of care and regulatory compliance.
- Support the resident assessment process, including move-ins, transfers, and care level appropriateness.
- Help communities address resident and family concerns about care delivery, clinical decisions, or transitions.
- Promote person-centered care practices that uphold dignity, respect, and quality of life.
- Deliver side-by-side training and coaching to Health & Wellness leaders and team members on ESL standards, policies, and best practices.
- Support onboarding and transition of newly hired Directors of Health & Wellness through real-time guidance, mentoring, and skills checks.
- Educate teams on resident rights, dignity, infection control, documentation standards, medication administration, and clinical workflows.
- Participate in scheduled clinical audits, site visits, and operational reviews with Divisional support and Quality Assurance.
- Identify trends in incidents, falls, medication errors, infections, and documentation gaps, and partner with community and divisional leadership on corrective action planning.
- Provide guidance during regulatory surveys, follow-up visits, or corrective action periods as directed by the SVP, Health & Wellness.
- Ensure appropriate partnerships with ancillary service providers such as home health, hospice, and therapy.
- Partner with the SVP, Health & Wellness, Divisional Operations leaders, and community Executive Directors to prioritize deployments.
- Provide timely feedback, observations, and recommendations after assignments.
- Maintain required licensure across assigned states and participate in on-call or emergency clinical support as directed.
What they are looking for
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) preferred; LPN/LVN may be considered with significant senior living leadership experience.
- Minimum three years of clinical leadership experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior living health care operations. Multi-site or regional experience preferred.
- Active, unrestricted nursing license in each assigned state, or the ability to obtain one.
- Strong knowledge of assisted living regulations, clinical compliance, assessments, medication management, and quality assurance.
- Ability to travel 100% of the time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with systems such as Sherpa, UKG, OnShift, and SharePoint preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving standards.
Benefits and other details
The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, life and voluntary life, 401k with employer matching, paid holidays, and up to 20 days PTO in the first three years.
Employment is contingent on successful completion of background screening in accordance with Florida law and company policy. Certain positions may require fingerprinting and Level 1 or Level 2 background screening.
This role is based in the United States and is 100% travel-based.
